General Terms and Conditions

Terms & Conditions

By purchasing tickets to attend this event, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions.



Terms and conditions are subject to change and are at the discretion of New Zealand Young Farmers (NZFY).



Key Terms

“Event” – means event specified on the ticket

“Guest” – means ticket holder and the ticket holder’s guests

“Venue” – means the location of the event specified on the ticket



Event Entry

A valid ticket is required to enter the venue. Tickets will be delivered to guests via email. You may be asked for I.D upon entry to verify your age. Valid forms of I.D include current valid passport, NZ driver’s license or HANZ 18+ card.



Guest Conduct

NZYF reserves the right to remove any person at the event if their behaviour is deemed antisocial, offensive, or inappropriate. Prohibited conduct includes disrupting, interrupting, hindering, or interfering with the Event, including any entertainment, awards, debate, or quiz that may take place as part of the event.



Emergencies & Evacuations

In the case of an emergency, all guests must follow the directions of NZYF staff and contractors.



Mobile Phones

Mobile phones must be turned on silent during the event ceremony including quiz and awards.



Smoking

The venue is smoke-free, and all guests must comply with this policy. No vaping inside the venue.



Alcohol Management

The serving and consumption of alcohol is subject to Liquor Licensing laws including the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2023 and its requirements. NZYF has the right to exercise host responsibility, including –

  • Underage guests will not be served. A valid proof of age photo ID is required when consuming and purchasing alcohol at the event. Forms of I.D accepted include current passport, NZ Driver’s License or HANZ 18+ ID card
  • Screening for intoxication as guests arrive and during the event. Guests found to be intoxicated and/or under the influence of drugs/narcotics will be refused entry or may be removed from the event and no refund will be provided
  • Closing the bar during the formalities and 30 minutes before the band finishes
  • Confiscating alcohol brought into the venue. Only alcohol brought at the bar can be consumed within the venue
  • Alcohol cannot be removed from the venue
  • If deemed necessary by the duty manager, restricting the number of alcoholic beverages, or closing the bar earlier than advertised



Transport

Unless transport is provided as part of the ticket, guests are responsible for their own transport to and from the event. Transport options will be promoted before and at the event.



Guest Property

Guests are responsible for their own property for the duration of the Event. Guests must not leave their possessions unattended at any time. We do not accept responsibility for any damage to or loss of any property at the Event.



Photography and Video Recordings

During the event, NZYF (or those contracted by NZYF) may record video and take photos of guests. These may be used by NZYF and partners, sponsors, and supporters to promote this event or future events without further authorisation by, or compensation to you.



Parking

Parking is available onsite. NZYF takes no responsibility for losses or damages to vehicles parked on or near the venue.



Personal Information

NZYF collects and keeps personal information for the purpose of corresponding with you regarding the event and it will be managed in accordance with NZYF Privacy Policy.



Refunds

A refund may be provided up to 30 working days before the event at the discretion of NZYF. Requests for a refund must be made in writing to events@youngfarmers.co.nz by the ticket holder. Request for refunds within 30 working days of the event will be refused, unless NZYF determine that you have a legitimate reason to ask for a refund.



Refunds will not be provided where you simply changed your mind.



If a refund is provided for any reason, it will not be issued to anyone other than the original ticket purchaser. All booking fees or credit card transaction fees are non-refundable.



COVID-19 or illness

Guests who are unwell should not attend the event. A refund will not be considered unless a request for a refund if made 10 working days before the event.



Circumstances outside of our reasonable control

If the event is cancelled or postponed, in whole or part, due to “Force Majeure Event”, for example fire, earthquakes, flooding, storms or other severe weather conditions, national emergencies, labour disputes, strikes, lockouts, civil disturbances, explosions, accidents, threatened or actual war, armed conflict, terrorist attacks, chemical or biological contamination, epidemics, pandemics, changes in COVID-19 alert levels, a full or partial refunded may be provided at the discretion of NZYF. Any communication regarding refunds due to cancellation or postponement will be communicated to all ticket holders via email.
